Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation

The Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation promotes health equity and seeks to improve the health outcomes of populations disproportionately affected by serious diseases by strengthening healthcare worker capacity, integrating medical care and community-based supportive services and mobilizing communities in the fight against diseases. The Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care received a grant of $604,000 to be used over the next two years to establish a model for lung cancer screening in high-risk, urban populations. The model will test new approaches, including outreach designed by community stakeholders and patient incentives, that will allow us to evaluate more patients for lung cancer screening eligibility, ensure that they receive appropriate screening, foster smoking cessation and facilitate needed follow-up and treatment.

Breaking down barriers to breast cancer care

The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) Patient Navigator Program is a proactive approach to helping patients overcome the barriers of cost, fear and misinformation surrounding breast cancer and its prevention. By helping women navigate the healthcare system, Navigators provide the vision that gives women hope. NBCF has provided $150,000 to support the Breast Nurse Navigator program at the Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care, ensuring that patents have all of the support they need through their screening, diagnosis, treatment and survivorship.
