Chief Executive Officer and Medical Director
Dr. Gina M. Villani has spent many years working within the New York City public hospital system fighting the disparities that exist in our healthcare structure. She was named Chief Executive Officer and Medical Director of the Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care in 2012. Under Dr. Villani’s stewardship, the Center has expanded access to high-quality cancer care for more New Yorkers and has become a model for community-based cancer care.
Dr. Villani is a board certified medical oncologist, hematologist and internist who earned her medical degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and holds a Masters in Health Policy and Management from the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University. Prior to joining the Center, Dr. Villani served as the Chief of Hematology and Oncology at The Brooklyn Hospital Center. In 2011 she received the Women of Excellence in Medicine award from the American Cancer Society for her work with underserved communities in Brooklyn.
Dr. Villani has published several papers and abstracts regarding health disparities, and has served on the American Society of Clinical Oncology’s Health Disparities Advisory Committee, as an advisor to the American Hospital Association and as the National Urban League's Vice President of Health.
